What are we learning this term?
Studying a range of non-fiction and fiction style models leading to the writing of coursework based on two texts chosen by students last term.
- Study of form, style, language and other conventions of a range of different writing types.
- Drafting of coursework.
- Continued revision of exam materials.

To be a successful writer, you should have a clear idea of what texts look and sound like. Reading newspaper articles, letters, advice leaflets and magazines will help you to do this. Newspaper articles can be accessed through the following websites:

Regular classroom assessment will support the drafting and redrafting of coursework that will be internally assessed.

Examination practise
- Continued revision of exam materials including ‘Great Gatsby’ and ‘Translations’ alongside the anthology.
- Exam practise – lots of it!

How will we be assessed?
Reading and creative writing assessments based on the materials and tasks you will complete in the exam. The final exams will be on:
