Information on assistance with student travel costs for students in Year 10 and 11 can be found on the Salford City Council website here.
Students aged 16 to 19, permanently resident in Greater Manchester and in full time education are eligible to apply for a TfGM Scholar’s Concessionary Permit. This permit will allow travel at the concessionary half fare for journeys on buses within Greater Manchester and concessionary child fare on trains and Metrolink trams. Directions
Cycling
We have plenty of secure facilities for bikes and cycle-friendly routes that link the surrounding areas to Salford Quays. There are over 300 cycle bays across the MediaCityUK site.
We recommend students and staff cycle in.
Tram
Broadway tram stop is the closest, only a few seconds walk to UTC@MediaCityUK
MediaCityUK has its own tram stop, which is just minutes from the main entrance to our campus.
The Metrolink network has frequent services into Eccles, central Manchester and beyond.
Bus
MediaCityUK is served by a number of dedicated bus routes offering journeys to Manchester City Centre, Salford Crescent and other destinations in South Manchester.
The X50 runs from Manchester city centre to the Trafford Centre, via Salford Quays where we’re based. Services are every 15 minutes, Monday to Sunday daytime.
The City Connect 50 links MediaCityUK to Salford and Manchester city centre. Services are every 10 minutes, Monday to Saturday daytime.
The 245 runs from Altrincham and goes via the Trafford Centre on its way here.

Car
Being a short drive from the Mancunian Way and the M602, we’re easily reached by car.
Parking on our campus site is limited, but there are plenty of pay and display places nearby.
