The Year 13 Creative Writing Course is outlined below:

Autumn Term:

What are we learning this term?

An in-depth look at the four main forms of writing: prose, poetry, drama and non-fiction leading to the creation of a writing portfolio.

 

  1. Study of form, examining a wide range of texts and completing a range of writing activities.
  2. Selecting pieces of writing for re-drafting and submission for the Unit 4 Coursework element.
  3. How do we write commentaries on our own writing?
  4. Regular revision of skills for the Unit 1 Writing on Demand examination.

How will we be assessed?

This work is for your coursework – a writing portfolio that will include a range of pieces demonstrating ability to write in different styles and forms.  You will also write a commentary on your influences and writing processes.

Exam Preparation

 

 

Unit 1 Writing on Demand and Unit 3 Reading to Writing will be revised and studied in depth in the lead up to the final examinations.

Reading and creative writing assessments based on the materials and tasks you will complete in the exam.  The final exams will be on:
