How will we be assessed?

2 End of topics tests and a January Mock Exam

What are we learning this term? We will be looking at acids and alkalis and doing practical involving universal indicator. We will also be looking at the electrolysis of certain compounds and the collection and testing of different gases. Metals are extracted from rocks dug up from the earth and we will be looking at the different methods of extracting them from the rocks they are found in.

Topic Test

What are we learning this term? We will look at transition metal and investigate their properties to understand more about them. We will also learn why alloying metals is extremely useful to us. We will also look at chemical reactions that can go both forwards and backwards and how we can adapt the conditions to try and persuade it to go in the direction that we want.
