Study your passion
Studying with us means following your passion – whether that’s TV & Film, Interactive Media & Graphics, Radio & Audio, or Interactive Media & Gaming. You will have at least 40% of your time dedicated to your technical specialism at Key Stage 4, and 60% at Key Stage 5.
With your core subjects at A level or GCSE, the nature of our curriculum ensures you will see the link between your studies and your interests, for example you will:
- Understand Physics through its application to TV and Radio
- Develop your English for copywriting, content management and digital journalism
- Learn Maths as it can be applied for web development
Forget ‘chalk and talk’ – we’re all about getting you engaged and active in your learning:
- Undertake real work-based tasks and activity
- Study and work in TV studios, radio studios, recording and editing facilities

It was very clear that our son wanted a career in media and we originally thought we would go down the traditional route of finishing school before going on to a specialist college. However, we were really excited when we came across the UTC and saw that they were taking in Year 10 pupils, as it is going to give him the opportunity to get stuck into what he really loves doing at school.
