Making the most of MediaCityUK

MediaCityUK – the UK’s digital and media hub

The sleek black and space grey exterior of the campus building has slipped proudly into the MediaCityUK skyline of exciting futuristic and sustainable buildings. It feels more like a workplace than a school. And that’s just how we want it.

Looking out from your classroom you’ll see the BBC, ITV, the criss-crossed building housing the University of Salford’s arts and media courses, and more. It’s an inspiring site, with the UK’s leading digital and media hub your new playground. And glistening nearby is The Lowry and the Imperial War Museum – your new school hall and history department.

Safe and secure

Our campus is a safe environment for students. We are nestled within MediaCityUK’s secure site, which is managed by The Peel Group and monitored 24 hours a day by their security staff and cameras. People live and work in MediaCityUK and the site is active 24/7 – after all, when does ‘the media’ ever sleep?

The UTC campus itself is staffed from 7.45am to 6.00pm and the transport links are excellent.

Specialist study hubs

Our campus building features several distinct areas, including ones for each of the creative and digital courses we offer. These areas are fully equipped to help you learn the skills you’ll need to succeed during your studies and future career.

A different type of dining room, with a modern style that allows for formal dining and cafe-style space to eat and meet and socialise.

A striking feature sees south-facing, full-height windows running the length of the refectory leading onto an outdoor terrace. With an inspiring panoramic view across the MediaCityUK skyline, you’ll be able to enjoy your meal with a view of the BBC and ITV buildings providing a glinting reminder of where your school work could lead.

Rooftop sports and recreation

Yet another ‘wow factor’ to the UTC building is provided by the multi-use games area on the roof. Play football and other sports at the top of the building in a safe, netted space (so don’t worry about having to get your ball back!) you can feel on top of the world whether you score the winner or not.
